Senior Design Engineer – Global Facilities & Construction

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to play a critical role in delivering complex manufacturing and cleanroom facilities across multiple U.S. locations. This position offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary design efforts, influence large-scale capital projects, and drive standardized, high-quality design execution in advanced manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design development for large-scale manufacturing and cleanroom projects, ensuring alignment with operational objectives, technical requirements, and long-term facility strategies.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to standardize design strategies and execution approaches across multiple projects and sites.

  • Build, guide, and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including engineering subject matter experts across MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) disciplines.

  • Serve as the Owner’s Design Representative throughout design and construction phases, resolving technical challenges and safeguarding design intent.

  • Partner closely with stakeholders including design, procurement, operations, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and construction teams through structured design reviews and feedback cycles.

  • Manage overall design scope, schedule, and budget, working in close coordination with estimating and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Lead and influence stakeholders to align on project goals, scope, schedule, and cost targets, adapting strategies as needed to accommodate change while maintaining project success.

  • Develop and validate design criteria, scope justifications, and concept packages, ensuring high-quality, milestone-driven deliverables from consultants and internal teams.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, regulatory requirements, and internal design standards through rigorous review and change control processes.

  • Review design-related bids, contracts, and cost estimates, and support construction activities through site reviews and inspections as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities design within front-end semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom environments.

  • Proven ability to lead design teams and coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly in written, verbal, and visual formats.

  • Deep technical knowledge of MEP and CSA systems, particularly within advanced manufacturing and cleanroom facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).

  • Experience managing multi-site or geographically distributed projects.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement within design and construction environments.
