Business Development Manager – Austria

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global lighting company, active in over 70 countries, for an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead market expansion and sales growth in Austria. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative organisation and play a key role in strengthening its European presence.

The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will assess market potential, develop business cases, and build strong relationships with customers and strategic partners. You will take responsibility for increasing sales activity, identifying new business opportunities, and representing the company’s solutions across Austria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess market opportunities and develop business cases in collaboration with senior management.

  • Drive sales growth through new customer acquisition and development of existing strategic partners.

  • Identify and build relationships with installers, contractors, and end users.

  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and deliver value-added solutions.

  • Manage projects and reporting using Salesforce.

  • Act as the Austrian reference point for customer training and BLE system presentations.

  • Meet agreed sales targets and contribute to budget planning.

  • Gather and analyse market intelligence to support strategic decisions.

  • Collaborate effectively across departments and business channels.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of the lighting industry.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, and marketing.

  • Good technical understanding and ability to communicate technical concepts.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for excellent service.

  • International business acumen with persuasive communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach.

  • Strong presentation, planning, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience is an advantage.

Education & Languages

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences, or equivalent technical training and experience.

  • Fluent in German and English.
